DOGS TRAVELLING TO THE UNITED STATES FROM CANADA

STARTING AUG 1, 2024

Each dog MUST still be and MUST have:

• Microchipped with an ISO compatible chip
• Be at least 6 months of age at the time of entry into the United States
• Appear healthy upon arrival
• Have an up-to-date rabies vaccination certificate (in order to return to Canada)
• A CDC dog import form receipt – you can find the form here or on the CDC website.

As a pet owner, it is your responsibility to ensure you have all of the proper documentation before entering the United States from Canada.

NOTES TO CONSIDER:

• The new regulations are still under review and may change again in the near future.
• We can not guarantee your dog will be accepted into the United States. Our team will do their best to help with the process and we appreciate your patience as we adapt to the evolving requirements.
• Additional documents and requirements will still be in effect for dogs importing from high-risk countries.  For more information and updates visit the CDC website for more information. Dogs returning to Canada from the United States

If you are returning to Canada with a pet after travelling in the U.S., you will need the right paperwork at the border to meet Canada’s import requirements. Consult the CFIA website to find out what you need before you travel, to ensure have everything you need for your return to Canada.
