Associate Veterinarian Wanted
We are a busy, well-established integrative small animal hospital in London, ON., seeking a positive, progressive Associate Veterinarian to join our team. We are a close-knit bunch who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of our clients and patients every single day. At Main Street we practice integrative medicine; combining conventional medicine with evidence based complementary modalities including Traditional Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic, nutritional therapy, herbal remedies, nutraceuticals and homotoxicology. Our clients are open-minded, forward thinkers who enjoy the broad range of conventional and holistic therapies and products we offer.
We operate a full-service veterinary hospital complete with in-house laboratory, digital radiology (including dental xrays), a brand-new surgical suite, dentistry, cold laser therapy and access to a wide array of complementary and alternative diagnostics, products, and services.
Duties of an associate veterinarian at Main Street will include performing physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort, and communicating with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs. You must enjoy working collaboratively with a team, possess excellent verbal communication skills and be comfortable asking questions.
Education, Skills and Abilities required:
- DVM Graduate with license in good standing
- Competent in conventional medicine and diagnostics
- Proficient in routine small animal general surgery
- Thorough physical exam skills
- Exceptional people and communication skills
- Possess strong ability to think critically
Applicant must be self-motivated to:
- Follow up and follow through with each client
- Have accurate and timely record keeping
- Give and receive direction in a professional, respective, and open manner
- Be creative, inquisitive and a self-starter
- Make decisions confidently and effectively
Knowledge or training in alternative modalities is not necessary; but an open mind, a willingness to learn and a commitment to continuing education are a must. To join our team, you also must have a deep love for animals and strong appreciation for the human animal bond.
We are open Monday to Friday, closed Saturday/Sunday. No weekends work required (at this time), flexible work hours to support work/life balance.
